The Beaver Section enjoy craftwork & games and work towards Challenge badges that can be gained by all, whatever their ability. Visits to District events and places of interest are arranged at regular intervals, and also attend sleep-overs at the Cubs camps.

At 8 years the children move onto the Cub section where more emphasis is placed on learning and acquiring new skills through work, play and games. A great variety of badges can be worked for, some that can be done on a pack evening and others that need to be done at home, sometimes with a little help from Mum and Dad. This section also participates in District events and up to 3 camps are organised each year.

From 10.5 the boys and girls transfer to the Scout section. More responsibility is given to the young people and they are encouraged to work alone or in small groups on little more difficult subjects, to gain awards and badges. Games are played at the end of each meetings, some slightly more robust than others, which they all love. A weeks camp is usually held in August with at least another weekend camp held during the year.

Remember Parents, if you have a hobby  or job that you think the children would like to hear about (not necessarily your own child's section) then please speak to one of the Leaders.

At all camps it is important that we get as much help from a member (or friend) of the child's family with the loading/unloading at the beginning and end of each camp. Camping equipment is heavy and there is a lot of it, so please help out.
